A singer/songwriter from Cincinnati, Ohio who has been at it since 2002. Kim Taylor has described her style as country/soul. I thought that was clever since her music and voice remind me so much of Rickie Lee Jones who to is very country/soul. Although Kim Taylor’s sultry voice has that resemblance, Taylor does have the talent enough to call her own. I first heard Kim on a TV show 2 years ago. And at that time I hardly watched TV so it was fate for my ears. Her modest success stems from her much placement on TV plus the fact she has opened up for some fantastic artists in the midwest region. (Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Aqualung, Ron Sexsmih, Greg Laswell and more) Her cover of Lucinda Williams, Sharp Cutting Wings (Song to a Poet) always has me setting my controls to “repeat one”. If you like a chick with a guitar that can sing and write good music then I think Kim Taylor would be a perfect fit.
